Govt school in Kinar demands drinking water, basic amenities

CHENGALPATTU: Students and teachers at the government primary school at Kinar village in Madhurandhagam district have requested for a new water connection after the existing water pipe has been damaged. The slushy water from the damaged pipe is stagnated around the school premises.

The school, which has 31 students, lack many basic amenities including lack of water in bathrooms and toilets. After the government-installed street pipes were damaged, the students and staff have been forced to draw water from other nearby pipes for their daily use. In light of this situation, many parents and residents of the area have submitted several petitions to various municipal authorities but no action has been initiated so far. Owing to the recent rains, the school premises is also facing water stagnation.
