Nagapattinam kids pen postcards to CM Stalin on breakfast scheme

CHENNAI: In an attempt to draw attention to their demands, the students of Chidambaranar Middle School in Orathur, Nagapattinam took an innovative step by writing their requests in a set of postcards to the Chief Minister MK Stalin.

The requests of the students range from their education to their well-being. One of the important demands is to implement the CM Breakfast scheme for students in aided schools. The students have also raised the issue of limited opportunities for higher education and medical college admissions.

The students, during their lunch break, wrote down their requirements on the postcard and dropped them in the nearest post box, addressing the CM’s office. They have emphasised the urgency of their demands, especially the implementation of the breakfast scheme.

A teacher at the aided school said, “Students voicing out their concerns is a crucial step and it is important to encourage them to continue to do so.” The teacher further said that he urged the students to consistently make efforts and assured them that their demands would be presented to the CM.

The students have also requested reservations for engineering and medical admission and the implementation of the Pudhumai Penn Scheme which provides girls students, between classes 6 to 12, Rs 1,000 per month.

The students are in a collective hope that the CM will acknowledge their grievances and take concrete steps to provide the necessary facilities.
