CHENNAI: Chennaiyin FC on Friday announced the departure of the versatile Edwin Sydney Vanspaul, who left the Indian Super League club after four years of service. Edwin is rumoured to join Kolkata giant East Bengal FC ahead of the upcoming season. Edwin, who joined Chennaiyin ahead of ISL 2019-20, made 78 appearances across all competitions for the ‘Marina Machans’, registering three goals and four assists. Edwin played a pivotal role in CFC’s run to the ISL 2019-20 final, switching from right-back to central midfield after he was asked to do so by the then head coach Owen Coyle.
