The Tamil classic cop drama Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu released in 2006, is now gearing up for a re-release, and will hit the screens on June 23. The cast of the film includes Kamal Haasan, Jyotika, Kamalinee Mukherjee, Prakash Raj, and Daniel Balaji, among others. The film was written and directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon, and produced under Manickam Narayanan’s Seventh Channel Communications, with the music composed by Harris Jayaraj.

The film was a blockbuster, with Kamal Haasan winning the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Actor. Earlier in 2022 director

Gautham Vasudev Menon stated he plans to make a sequel of Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu, and was in discussion with Kamal for the script preparation. The cop drama, which revolves around the hunt for a serial killer duo will be released by YMR Creations through KM Sundaram Picture. The re-release of the film has put a huge smile on the face of Kamal’s die-hard fans as Raghavan is one of the actor’s iconic on-screen portrayals. Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu, made on a budget of around Rs 24 crores, grossed over Rs 50 crore, and the re-release will certainly add more numbers to the box office collection. The director of the film Gautham, said that the sequel is in the offing.
