CHENNAI: Expelled former AIADMK Rajya Sabha member V Maitreyan on Friday joined the BJP in New Delhi.

The three-time Rajya Sabha member, Maitreyan, joined the party in the presence of BJP National general secretaries Arun Singh and CT Ravi.

Later, talking to reporters he said lotus will bloom in Tamil Nadu in the 2024 Lok Sabha and 2026 Assembly elections.

It may be recalled that Maitreyan, who was considered a close confidante of former AIADMK Supremo J Jayalaltihaa, was expelled from the AIADMK last year for alleged anti-party activities.
