CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu reported new 156 cases, including one case each from the UAE and Malaysia on Saturday. Total number of cases in the State reached 35,96,946. Chennai reported 43 cases, followed by 15 cases in Chengalpattu and Salem respectively. Coimbatore recorded 14 cases. Other districts reported less than 10 cases. TN’s test positivity rate (TPR) stood at 3.8% after 3,766 people were tested in the past 24 hours. Active cases in the State stood at 836 with the highest of 240 reported in Chennai. Total recoveries reached 35,58,060. No more COVID-fatality was reported in the past 24 hours. Death toll stood at 38,050.
