WASHINGTON: Prominent Indian-American politician Nikki Haley has sent invitations to her supporters and well-wishers to join her for a “special announcement” on February 15 during which she is expected to declare her intention that she is seeking the 2024

Republican presidential nomination.

Haley, 51, is the two-term Governor of South Carolina and the former US Ambassador to the United Nations. “I want to invite you to join me for a special announcement in Charleston on February 15, 2023,” Haley said in an invitation that was sent out on Wednesday. “It would mean a great deal if you accepted this invitation right away. It will be a great opportunity to hear about my plans for the future, and I don’t want you to miss out!” she said. When she enters the race, Haley will be the first contender to join the contest against her Trump.
