CHENNAI: A 35-year-old police constable attached to Rajamangalam police station in Chennai allegedly died by suicide in his house in Red Hills by consuming alcohol laced with pesticide on Wednesday night. The deceased was identified as E Sathish, a 2013 batch constable now posted as constable in the law and order wing of Rajamangalam station. According to the police, he had been facing some health issues, due to which he was regularly absent for duty, which led to departmental action and punishment. He reportedly told his mother that he had not received his salary for the last few months. On Wednesday, it was his neighbours who found him unconscious and rushed him to Government Stanley Medical College Hospital where he was declared dead.
