CM makes kala aivu of students’ food in Vellore

VELLORE: Chief Minister MK Stalin who was in Vellore on a two-day visit went around various locations at Sathuvachari on a field inspection on Thursday.

Accompanied by Vellore district collector Kumaravel Pandian, the Chief Minister first visited the under-construction Rs 25 lakh PHC at Bharathi Nagar in the area after which he went to the central kitchen for the students’ breakfast scheme in the CMC Colony. He checked the registers of ingredients purchased and also visited various rooms in the facility to ensure that cleanliness was followed in all procedures.

He then visited the AD primary school at Gandhinagar nearby where he tasted some of the food cooked for the students and advised those in charge to ensure that breakfast was served by 7.30 am and that no student was made to wait for food.

He also visited the AD school in nearby Alamelumangapuram where too he served food to students and interacted with them about the quality of the food served.

“I commenced the field visit today by visiting the health centre being constructed at Sathuvachari. I enjoyed making sure that good quality breakfast is prepared for the school children, and served them food,” CM Stalin tweeted. The Chief Minister then left for the Vellore Collectorate where he held a review meeting with collectors of Vellore, Ranipet, Tirupattur and Tiruvannamalai districts.

During his review of programmes and initiatives with the district officials, the Chief Minister directed them to focus on people’s welfare schemes, realising what the government’s priority is.

Stressing the need for coordination among departments, Stalin said, “Realise what the priorities of the government are and strive together with the goal of ensuring people’s well-being.”

VELLORE: A 10-year-old girl was pleasantly surprised when Chief Minister MK Stalin on his way out of the Vellore Collectorate at the end of the police officials review meeting halted his vehicle and received a pen she had with her on Wednesday night. CM Stalin was just exiting the Collectorate gate when he saw a big crowd waiting to see him. He then slowed his vehicle and waved to them. It was then that his eyes fell on Yazhini (10) daughter of Silambarasan of Vanjur near Katpadi who was also waiting to see him. He stopped his vehicle and received the pen she handed over to him with a request that it be placed at the memorial of his father and former CM M Karunanidhi. CM Stalin then shook the girl’s hand and left. V Yazhini was gushing with joy due the Chief Ministers gesture.
