CM Stalin inaugurates Vanavil Mandram in Tiruchy

TIRUCHY: Chief Minister MK Stalin here on Monday inaugurated the Vanavil Mandram, which kindle the interest in students to experiment things and flagged off mobile laboratories as part of the initiative.

The Vanavil Mandram is a forum introduced to educate the government school students from Classes 6 to 8 and make them learn in an interesting way through experimental methods.

The main objective of the forum is to make the students enjoy mathematics and sciences and learn the subjects through ‘how and why questions’ by themselves.

A total of 25 lakh students from as many as 13,210 government schools would benefit from the programme and a fund of Rs 25 crore has been allocated.

Poyyamozhi, in his welcome address at the inaugural at Government AD Welfare Girls HSS, Pappakurichi here, said that 710 STEM experts have been trained by educationists and they would visit the schools to conduct experiments and make students understand how and why of the principles of science and mathematics. He also said that the programme would help students to discover the knowledge within them.

The STEM experts along with the teachers handling the subjects would educate the students by demonstrating the experiments. The teachers would also be provided training by the subject experts through online interactions.

Later, the Chief Minister flagged off 100 mobile laboratories and interacted with students and teachers in the school. Minister KN Nehru and others were present during the inaugural programme.
