Kerala man held for snatching mobile phone near Triplicane MRTS
CHENNAI: City Police on Sunday arrested a 29-year-old man from Kerala for allegedly snatching the mobile phone of a person near Triplicane MRTS (mass rapid transport system) railway station. According to police, P Kumar of Injambakkam had come to Triplicane and he was seated outside the railway station on Saturday morning and browsing through his mobile when the accused snatched his phone and fled. Based on Kumar’s complaint, Marina police registered a case and began investigations. Surfing CCTV footage, police zeroed in on the suspect and arrested Aarya (29) of Thiruvananthapuram and recovered the stolen mobile phone from him. Police investigations revealed that Aarya was involved in a theft case in Neelankarai too. He was produced before a magistrate and remanded in custody.
