TIRUCHY: The Sri Lankan Navy apprehended 24 fishermen from Pudukkottai for allegedly crossing the IMBL on Monday. The 24 fishermen, in five mechanised boats, were fishing off the Jegathapattinam coast, when they were intercepted and arrested on charges of crossing the IMBL. The Navy also seized the boats and their fishing gear. The fishermen were taken to Talaimannar and presented before the court after being handed over to the officials of the Fisheries Department at Talaimannar.
