CHENNAI: Stating that she was facing threats for criticising the release of suspects in the Rajiv Gandhi assassination, a retired additional SP approached the city police commissionerate seeking protection. Anushya Daisy Ernest, who was injured when the former PM was assassinated on May 21, 1991, had joined the Congress after retiring from service. She alleged receiving threatening messages and obscene voice notes, including from foreign numbers, on her mobile phone and sought protection.
