Serve NEET original answer sheet to medical aspirant: HC to NTA

The Madras High Court ordered the National Testing Agency (NTA) to show the original OMR answer sheet of the NEET exam to a Nilgiris-based girl student, A Chrisma Victoria.

She had filed the petition alleging that the copies of answer sheets released by the NTA have two different marks. Justice R Suresh Kumar passed the orders while disposing of her petition.

Chrisma had written the NEET in July. On July 31, the NTA first announced that she had scored 176 marks out of 700. But when releasing the marks in September, Chrisma came to know that she scored merely 65 marks.

Therefore, she sent representation to the NTA twice to see her original OMR answer sheet. As there were no responses from the NTA, she filed the petition.

Chrisma’s advocate submitted that though the OMR marks statement has been uploaded by the NTA on September 7, 2022, her grievance was that she wanted to verify or see or peruse the original OMR answer sheet to check whether her answers have been properly evaluated.

The NTA’s standing counsel informed the judge that if the petitioner was willing to visit its head office in Noida, they were ready to show the original answer sheet.

Therefore, the judge passed orders to the NTA to serve the original OMR answer sheet of the petitioner as she was willing to visit the NTA office.
