The deceased was identified as N Mohanraj, a resident of Vel Nagar in Nandhambakkam. On Monday, Mohanraj was travelling with his family towards Chennai-Bengaluru highway in their car, when a truck which was trailing their car, hit the rear-view mirror of the car and sped away.

Despite Mohanraj’s screams, the truck driver Karthikeyan (38) did not stop the vehicle, which infuriated him. Mohanraj chased down the truck and intercepted the vehicle near Pudupedu.

He got off the vehicle and verbally abused Karthikeyan. The argument escalated, and he climbed onto the truck to assault Karthikeyan.

At this point, Karthikeyan, in his attempt to flee, started the vehicle and drove. Mohanraj slipped and fell under the wheels of the truck and was killed on the spot.

His relatives reached to the scene and ransacked the truck. Police rushed there and pacified them. The Chromepet traffic investigation wing arrested Karthikeyan and are investigating.
