IAF gets more teeth for mountain warfare

The Indian Air Force (IAF) on Monday formally inducted the first batch of indigenously developed Light Combat Helicopter ‘Prachand’ to boost its combat prowess at a ceremony in Jodhpur in the presence of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari.

Rajnath Singh, who flew sortie of the Prachand LCH here, termed it a major milestone for ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ and lauded the Indian Air Force. He the LCH will enhance the efficiency of the defence forces. “It was a smooth and comfortable flight in the indigenously built light combat helicopter (LCH). It can fly in any terrain, weather, and altitude; it has the capability to attack,” Rajnath said after the sortie.

“The induction of indigenously developed Light Combat Helicopters (LCH) will enhance our capability and will boost defence production. There could not have been a better timing for LCH induction than

Navratri and in the land of warriors, Rajasthan,” he further said.
